Liezel Landman: Project Manager

Liezel is a qualifed Social Worker, with a Masters Degree in Social Development and Policy from the University of Pretoria. Since 2009 she is Project Manager at Kamcare. Before becoming involved at Kamcare she was already working as a social worker in the Roodeplaat community. Traumatic experiences in her own youth has lightened a flame in her to care deeply for the community. 

Roelf Opperman: Director & Head Wellness Centre

Roelf is a father and husband, a dreamer of a better future, and a full time pastor at the Dutch Reformed Congregation in Kameeldrif. He is a qualified life-couch and therapist with more than 20 years of experience. He is a firm believer that individuals and communities can change and that people can make the world a better place. Willem Pretorius: Director & Training Centre

Willem has been a pastor at the Dutch Reformed Congregation in Kameeldrif and important leader in the community since 1991. He holds a Doctorate in Practical Theology from the University of Pretoria, and considers himself to be an lifelong student. He has a passion for training and for developing leaders and healthy communities in South Africa and Africa. He is a director and one of the founding members of Kamcare.

 

 

Rachel Fourie: Chairperson, board of Directors

Rachel is a mother of two children, and has been involved with the Dutch Reformed congregation in Kameeldrif, and the Roodeplaat community for a very long time. She has a passion for those who suffer and are caught up in oppressive situations. She chaired the community development work of the congregation for the previous ten years and was part of the birth of Kamcare.

 

Marius van Tonder: Finances and Member of Board

Marius is a CA with 24 years of experience and a dream for a community of harmony and peace. He is an agent for change, doing his part in building a caring community. He lives by the words “Just do it”, believing that action is necessary, and the best way to learn is to start by doing something. He brings to the team a wide array of financial and business experience, and gives his time to make sure that the finances is managed and used in the most efficient way.
